A collaboration betweeen Tacoma artist Tiffanny Hammonds and Queens creator Marcos Purdie. (Tiffanny) “This shirt was something I’ve wanted to create for a very long time, remembering parts of hilltop and Tacoma that we no longer see and parts that will soon be gone— Tacoma made me who I am, and is my fabric.” The 4 the Hill T-shirt is for anyone and everyone who is proud to call Tacoma home. Included in the top left of the shirt is a message from Tacoma Edler, Dr. Joye Hardiman. The passage says “ We take as our sacred duty, the restoration of that which is in ruin, and pledge to make it more beautiful, more colorful and more bold than before. Ashe, power to Hilltop”.. We are very greatful for the blessing and conversations she gifted us with. Marcos in 2019, release a shirt dedicated to Queens, this was the inspiration for our collab. Two young black artists who have faced gentrification on either sides of the country and want to find ways to pour back in to where we came from. We hope you enjoy this piece, and cherish it.
The shirts are a cotton blend. They run true to mens sizing, and are a bit longer than the average t-shirt. The design is made to be vinatge looking, so if it is washed it will still hold character but we recommend hand washing in cold water to maintain it as long as possible.
***Pre-orders were released November 17, 2021 and because of manufacturer delays the shirts weren’t delivered till a month later. We have a few shirts left over from the preorder, so it’s first come first serve, the shirts will be mailed out the following week they were ordered, this time around! Approx 5-7 business days at the max! If you have and questions please let me know!!!
